Owen Ricketts, of Morrisville, PA, had pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm for an unlawful purpose and other weapons offenses, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Ricketts originally pleaded guilty on July 19, 2022 and agreed to a recommended sentence of five-years in New Jersey State Prison with a one-year period of parole ineligibility, the prosecutor said.
During that plea, Ricketts admitted to firing a BB gun out of a motor vehicle that struck a pedestrian.
He also admitted to possessing a handgun which was ultimately discovered by Atlantic City police in his fanny pack. The firearm was a "Polymer80" 9mm handgun with no serial number fully loaded with a 17-round high-capacity magazine, the prosecutor said.
Two BB guns were also found inside the vehicle.
